Integrated Science and STEM
You have probably heard about STEM; even if it is only because our College has won two WA Governor's STEM awards! One each in 2015 and 2016.
STEM is an acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
These are the areas where Australia needs to develop expertise. There are STEM skills that students can develop to make them competitive in life.
Four STEM skills include Collaboration, Communication, Critical and Creative Thinking.
Students practise these skills in all of the subjects they study.
The Integrated Science Class will be collaborating and communicating with both the Design and Technology and the Physical Education faculties.
By designing and building authentic products students will enhance their engineering skills whilst practising their critical and creative thinking skills.
